Hydrostatic Extrusions Britain CUPONAL ? Copper-clad AluminumBACK

1. Bruker Hydrostatic Extrusions advanced manufacturing technology ensures that factory operation is able to satisfy supreme standards of production properties. Utilizing hydrostatic extrusions technology, CUPONAL® Copper-clad Aluminum achieves a beautiful and even grain structure while maintaining accuracy within a wide range of sizes. Since 1970, Bruker Hydrostatic Extrustions has been serving the global power distribution industry with a high standard CUPONAL™ wire.

2. Introduction of Copper-clad Aluminum

CUPONAL™ is a copper-clad aluminum (CCA) bi-metal conductor developed to provide an economic alternative to solid copper. Produced by the hydrostatic extrusion process, CUPONAL™ consists of a solid core of electrical grade aluminum with a pressure bonded seamless outer layer of high conductivity copper.
CUPONAL™ delivers economic and weight saving advantages over solid copper, yet retains the surface properties of a copper conductor. It is often possible to substitute copper wire with CUPONAL™ wire of equal diameter, which yields the maximum cost efficiency.

3. Strength
1)    Strong electrical conductivity: standard CUPONAL™ wire possesses a nominal copper clad of 15% by volume, while conducting 85% current flow compared to pure copper.
2)    Lightweight: the relative density of CUPONAL™ vs. copper results in the mass of CUPONAL™ being only 41% of that of copper of equal diameter.
3)    Excellent mechanical properties: possesses good strength of extension, flexibility and elongation.
4)    Solid combination by copper and aluminum: two metals achieve permanent atoms combining in all environment temperatures. The copper layer is bonded seamless and evenly without any physical flaws.
5)    Strong malleability and reliability: produced by special thermal treatment, CUPONAL™ possesses strong malleability which benefits punching, cutting, bending without crack or separations.
6)    Best option: Environmentally friendly and pollution free, saves copper and reduces the production cost.
Notice: Width and thickness of CUPONAL™ can be customized.
